Projects Accountant

Job Overview:

We are seeking a qualified Construction Projects Accountant to join our clients team and support various aspects of project management, from the bidding phase through to project completion. This role involves assisting with documentation, facilitating project pursuits, coordinating with team members, and ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards. If you possess a strong interest in commercial construction, project management, and fostering client relationships, this position offers an excellent opportunity for professional growth.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Accountant: Manage documentation, prepare lists of subcontractors, gather bids, research archived project information, and take detailed meeting notes.
  • Bidding and Estimating: Engage with clients to understand their needs, review new project postings, conduct job walks, and prepare cost estimates. Collect and evaluate bids from trade partners and compile comprehensive estimates for leadership review.
  • Project Coordination: Collaborate with field and office teams to ensure timely project delivery while meeting budget, quality, and safety objectives.
  • Safety Compliance: Assist in promoting and enforcing our safety policies throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Record meeting discussions, ensure the timely execution of subcontracts, and facilitate project closeout procedures.
  • Client Relations: Serve as the primary liaison between clients, subcontractors, architects, and engineers to maintain positive relationships and ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Team Collaboration: Support colleagues and contribute to team efforts in resolving issues and achieving project success.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably within the commercial construction sector.
  • Strong organizational skills and a proactive approach to skill development and client satisfaction.
  • Proficiency in construction management software such as Procore, Sage, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Project.
  • Familiarity with budgeting, purchasing, and accounting practices.
