A renowned organization known for its exceptional service and diverse portfolio of businesses is looking for a leader in their tax department. They are seeking an experienced Global Tax Director to join their dynamic team. This role requires a strong background in both US and international tax regulations, with extensive experience in a Big 4 accounting firm.

Job Summary:

The Global Tax Director will be responsible for overseeing the company’s tax planning, compliance, and reporting functions. This includes ensuring compliance with federal, state, and international tax laws, optimizing tax strategies, and managing relationships with external tax advisors and auditors. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of tax regulations, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize the company’s tax position.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, and international tax regulations.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of federal, state, and international tax returns.
  • Manage the tax provision process and ensure accurate reporting in financial statements.
  • Conduct research on tax issues and provide guidance on tax-related matters.
  • Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations and assess their impact on the company.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors and tax advisors.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to gather necessary information for tax filings and audits.
  • Lead and mentor the tax team, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
  • Represent the company in tax audits and disputes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required, advanced degree (MBA or MST) preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of tax experience, including experience in a Big 4 accounting firm.
  • Strong knowledge of US federal, state, and international tax laws and regulations.
  • Experience with tax compliance, tax provision, and tax planning.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
