We have a growing Richmond company seeking a highly motivated Senior Accounting Analyst with 3-5 years of experience to join their dynamic finance team. This role will play a critical part in driving financial planning, analysis, and decision-making across the company, working cross-functionally with IT, finance, and accounting teams. The ideal candidate will be analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable collaborating with various departments to ensure the financial health of the company as we continue to scale.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with IT, finance, and accounting teams to gather and analyze financial data for decision-making and reporting.
- Lead financial planning and analysis (FP&A) activities including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Collaborate with the IT team to streamline data collection and reporting processes using financial systems and software tools.
- Develop and maintain financial models to assess business performance and support long-term planning initiatives.
- Analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results and provide actionable insights to leadership.
- Assist in preparing reports for management, stakeholders, and external auditors.
- Participate in strategic planning efforts to drive profitability, cost management, and operational efficiency.
- Support the accounting team with financial close processes and ensure data accuracy and compliance.
- Contribute to process improvements, including automation efforts within finance and IT systems.
- Support ad hoc projects and analysis as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in financial analysis, preferably in the technology sector.
- Strong understanding of financial statements and financial modeling.
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with financial software and ERP systems is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
- Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
