The US Controller will oversee all accounting functions for the company's US operations, including financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls. The successful candidate will have a strong background in IFRS, US GAAP, and regulatory reporting, with experience in managing a large accounting team in a complex, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation and review of accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with IFRS and US GAAP.
- Oversee the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, including consolidations, intercompany eliminations, and variance analysis.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and internal policies, especially relating to IFRS standards.
- Manage external audits and coordinate with auditors to ensure smooth audit processes.
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal control systems to mitigate financial risks.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team to optimize efficiency and accuracy.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline accounting processes and systems.
- Partner with senior leadership to provide insights on financial performance and support strategic decision-making.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; MBA or Master's in Finance is a plus.
- CPA required; additional IFRS certifications preferred.
- Minimum of 10+ years of accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP.
- Experience in a large, multinational organization, preferably within the media or entertainment industry.
- Proven experience in managing complex financial reporting and consolidations.
- Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
