A Senior Accountant is needed on a direct hire basis for a large logistics company located in Fontana. This position requires significant expertise in journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and assisting with month-end close. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and possess strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, particularly within the logistics or transportation sector.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, review, and post accurate and timely journal entries to the general ledger.
- Ensure proper documentation and support for all journal entries and adjustments.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Lead the month-end and year-end close processes.
- Assist in preparing financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, etc.).
- Perform detailed reconciliations for balance sheet accounts and other financial records.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on journal entries, general ledger, and month-end close processes.
- Strong proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Previous experience in a logistics, transportation, or supply chain-related industry is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax compliance.
