A large, global, publicly traded corporation located in Dallas is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accounting Manager on a direct hire basis. The Senior Accounting Manager will oversee a team of onsite and remote accounting professionals in a shared services environment. This role will be responsible for managing the day-to-day financial operations across multiple business units. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent leadership capabilities, and previous experience in a shared services environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the daily operations of the accounting team within the Shared Services Division, including general ledger management, month-end and year-end closing, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, internal reports, and supporting schedules for management and external audits.
  • Develop and implement best practices for financial processes and controls to drive operational efficiency and minimize risk.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls, and ensuring adherence to GAAP.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., finance, HR, IT) to streamline financial systems and reporting processes, providing actionable insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Oversee account reconciliations, variance analysis, and reporting on financial performance to management, identifying trends and potential areas for cost savings or process improvements.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to accounting staff, fostering a collaborative, high-performance team environment.
  • Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and other key financial documents to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of financial systems enhancements, ensuring alignment with business objectives and streamlined operations.
  • Manage the preparation and submission of internal and external audits, tax filings, and compliance documentation as required.
  • Act as a key point of contact for senior leadership on accounting matters, providing insights and updates on financial performance and shared services operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
  • Minimum of 7+ years of accounting experience, including 3+ years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and accounting standards; experience with shared services models is a plus.
  • Proven track record of process improvement, financial analysis, and developing efficient accounting workflows.
  • Experience with ERP systems and financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and engage with senior management.
  • High level of attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to manage and mentor a team, fostering professional development and ensuring high levels of performance.
