Financial Reporting Manager

The Financial Reporting Manager will oversee all aspects of statutory financial reporting for an insurance company. This role requires in-depth knowledge of statutory accounting principles. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the insurance industry and proven experience managing financial reporting processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the preparation and submission of statutory financial reports
  • Perform financial statement reconciliations and analysis
  • Oversee month-end close processes and journal entries
  • Coordinate with external auditors for annual financial audits
  • Ensure compliance with insurance regulations and accounting standards
  • Analyze and manage insurance accounts
  • Develop and train finance team members

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting
  • CPA or Master's degree preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of statutory accounting experience in the insurance industry
  • Minimum 2 years of accounting experience from an insurance company (any line of business)
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Comfortable working 5 days a week in the NY office
  • Experience with state regulatory reporting is a plus, but not required
  • This role does not currently manage staff but offers growth opportunities

Salary: $130,000-$150,000
