Financial Reporting Manager
The Financial Reporting Manager will oversee all aspects of statutory financial reporting for an insurance company. This role requires in-depth knowledge of statutory accounting principles. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the insurance industry and proven experience managing financial reporting processes.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the preparation and submission of statutory financial reports
- Perform financial statement reconciliations and analysis
- Oversee month-end close processes and journal entries
- Coordinate with external auditors for annual financial audits
- Ensure compliance with insurance regulations and accounting standards
- Analyze and manage insurance accounts
- Develop and train finance team members
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting
- CPA or Master's degree preferred
- Minimum 2 years of statutory accounting experience in the insurance industry
- Minimum 2 years of accounting experience from an insurance company (any line of business)
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Comfortable working 5 days a week in the NY office
- Experience with state regulatory reporting is a plus, but not required
- This role does not currently manage staff but offers growth opportunities
Salary: $130,000-$150,000
