Position Overview:
The Staff Accountant will play a key role in managing billing processes, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing, and supporting the accounting team with financial reporting and reconciliations. This role is ideal for someone with 3-5 years of accounting experience, particularly in billing and accounts receivable, looking to advance in a creative, fast-paced industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, review, and process client invoices in alignment with project contracts and budgets.
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate billing data and resolve discrepancies.
- Monitor accounts receivable, follow up on outstanding invoices, and manage collections efforts.
- Assist with month-end close processes, including account reconciliations and journal entries.
- Support financial reporting activities and provide documentation for internal and external audits.
- Maintain billing schedules, contracts, and project documentation in the accounting system.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts as needed.
- Continuously identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance billing efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3-5 years of accounting experience, with a strong focus on billing and accounts receivable.
- Experience in the architecture, engineering, or design industry is a plus.
- Advanced Excel skills, including proficiency with pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently in a hybrid environment, balancing remote and in-office responsibilities.
