Staff Accountant
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our clients team. This position involves managing the financial aspects of various construction projects, including budget development, supplier contract oversight, production cost analysis, and invoice verification.
As a Staff Accountant, you will work closely with the project manager to ensure financial accuracy and project efficiency. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and a keen eye for detail, ensuring cost-effective accounting practices are followed throughout each project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with project managers to create comprehensive, cost-effective budgets for construction projects.
- Handle various accounting tasks, such as generating invoices, forecasting cash flow, and approving purchase orders.
- Monitor financial transactions and incorporate unforeseen costs into the project budget.
- Maintain organized financial records for both internal audits and tax reporting purposes.
- Prepare detailed financial reports, analyzing project costs and financial data.
- Identify and report any budgetary discrepancies or financial risks to management for review.
- Monitor market trends to forecast construction-related cost fluctuations.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and contractors.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Construction accounting certification is a plus.
- At least 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably within the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of construction cost accounting practices and financial procedures.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation:
$75,000 - $90,000 per year, based on experience.
